EC introduces biometric system to stop bogus voting in Bihar elections
The Election Commission has introduced biometric system for the first time in the ongoing panchayat election to check bogus voting in the state.
State panchayati raj minister, Samrat Choudhary, said the biometric technology was used during the first phase of the panchayat election.
Advocating the system, the minister said it was the best method to stop bogus voting in elections.

China Evergrande Debt Crisis-
As per Rushi Advanced Institute of Finance, condominium prices in Shenzhen city are now 57 times greater than the average annual income and 55 times greater than the income in Beijing.
Prices in China are much greater than the Japan’s bubble economy in 1990, when Tokyo condos were 18 times greater than the average annual income.
Homes are beyond the reach of average households while investors fear President Xi Jinping could take measures to cool the bubble, especially in light of his “common prosperity campaign” that envisions a more equitable economy in which fruits of development are widely shared.
In 2020, People’s Bank of China had put out three “red lines” that major real estate developers needed to be careful about in terms of their financial status. Central bank sought to make it difficult for developers to increase leverage by forcing real estate companies to stay within a debt-to-asset ratio.

NCW Launches Training Program for Women in Dairy Farming
To launch the training programme, NCW is collaborating with agricultural universities in India in order to identify and train women working in the field of dairy farming and allied activities in several like value addition, quality enhancement and packaging & marketing of dairy products.
First programme under this project was organised on ”Value Added Dairy products” at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences in Hisar for women self-help groups. It was organised in collaboration with the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission.
- This programme was launched because women in rural India are involved in every part of dairy farming but they have not attained financial independence. Thus, this project was launched with the aim of empower women and help them in achieving them financial independence.
CSIR innovation award presented
Awards were presented to two Class 10 students from Udupi district in a virtual ceremony.
Those students are Anusha and Rakshitha Naik from Charamakki Narayana Shetty Memorial Government High School in Ardi Village.
They received the award for their project named “Gas Saving Kit”.
Award was sponsored by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, that will reach to students in a week, via post.
It comprises of a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
Both the students developed gas saving kit. This kit would enable a family of four to source hot water for bathing as well as cooking food simultaneously. It will also allow water to flow through a copper coiled frame which have been kept over a flaming stove. In the process, water flowing through the outlet pipe is heated.
Home Minister inaugurates 17th Formation Day of NDMA.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), 17th Formation Day, will be inaugurated in New Delhi on 28 September by Home Minister Amit Shah.
Highlights:
♦ The theme of this Formation Day is Cascading effects of disaster events within the Himalayan region.
♦ The Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary, Dr P. K. Mishra, will deliver the valediction. Ajay Kumar Mishra and Nisith Pramanik, The Ministers of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, and the Union Home Secretary also will be present.
♦ The technical session will see leading experts holding talks on Cascading Effects of Disaster Events within the Himalayan region within the country.
♦ NDMA is remitted to get down policies, plans and guidelines for Disaster Management. India envisions the event of an ethos of Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness and Response.
Nagalands’ Naga Cucumber Gets GI Tag
Nagaland’s sweet cucumber was granted a geographical identification (GI) tag as an agricultural product.
Highlights:
♦ Under the terms of The Geographical Indications of products (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999, Nagaland’s sweet cucumber was granted a geographical identification (GI) tag.
♦ The cucumber is one of the significant vital crops within the Northeast region. Nagaland has the 5th-highest farming of this fruit area-wise and ranks 3rd in production.
♦ Naga cucumber is distinguished for its sweetness and unique green colour. It’s rich in potassium and has low calories.
♦ The GI tag is a crucial sign used on products with a selected geographical origin and reputation. It denotes the authenticity of not only the merchandise but the tactic during which it had been produced.
♦ The GI tag is supposed to guard the truly unique traditions of communities against appropriating large industries and thus allow these regions economic prosperity by manufacturing, producing, and marketing their lore.
