It refers to a condition in which one or few chromosomes are added or deleted from the chromosome number
A large variation in which the amount of genetic material increases by means of chromosomes sets.
A comparative small variation in which amount of genetic material increases by means of the number of chromosomes
Example , 2n diploid, 3N triploid

Frequently occurs in plants and rarely in animals
Occurs both in plants and animals
May lead to the formation of new species
