Planting of 433.9 lakh saplings in current financial year, Bihar CM
Bihar CMNitish Kumar asked the officials of the department of Environment, forest and <a href="https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change (DoEFCC) to properly execute the work-plan of planting 433.93 lakh saplings in the current financial year (2023-24) with an aim to increase the states total green cover to 17% from the existing 15%.
Director (<a href="https://exam.pscnotes.com/social-Forestry“>Social Forestry) C P Khanduja, through a presentation, informed the CM that the department has fixed a target of planting a total of 433.93 lakh saplings under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan in FY 2023-24. Khanduja also informed the CM about the plantation works executed in the past four financial years from FY 2019-20 to 2022-23 in Bihar.
While reviewing the works of the DoEFCC, the CM asked the officials to properly execute whatever work-plan they have prepared for plantation in FY 2023-24.

This move aims to provide farmers with access to cheaper loans for setting up solar projects and procuring equipment.
Individual farmers, groups of farmers, cooperatives, panchayats, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Water User Associations (WUAs) can set up solar power Plants with capacities ranging from 500 kW to 2 MW.
