Naval Anti-Drone System – NADS

First indigenously developed anti-drone system, NADS to be inducted through the INDIAN NAVY.

Highlights:

A contract was signed between the IN (Indian Navy) and Navaratna DEFENCE Psu Bharat Limited for the supply of the 1st indigenous comprehensive Naval Anti Drone System with both hard kill & soft kill capabilities.

The Naval Anti Drone System (NADS) is the first indigenously developed anti-drone system to be established into the Indian Armed Forces.

NADS can immediately detect and interfere with micro drones, and use laser-based killing mechanisms to terminate the targets. It will be an wonderful all-encompassing counter to the increased drone danger to strategic naval installations.

The NADS makes use of the help of Radar, Electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors and Radio Frequency (RF) detectors to observe and jam the micro drones.

INS Airavat – Covid Relief Supplies

Covid relief supplies were delivered by INS Airavat to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

As part of the ongoing SAGAR mission, INS Airavat arrived at the port of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam with COVID relief supplies. The ship is carrying a hundred Metric Tons of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 5 ISO Containers and 300 Oxygen Concentrators of 10 LPM capability each based on the requirement projected through the Government of Vietnam in its combat towards the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

New Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development

The Union Home Minister has launched a portal for registering units under the “New Central Sector Scheme” for industrial development in Jammu & Kashmir.

Highlights:

This scheme has an economic outlay of 28,400 crore is open for any eligible service sector enterprise registered business enterprise under GST or eligible manufacturing entity.

It is expected that the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir will have an extra funding of about 12,000 crore for the establishment of 1,200 industrial units.

The complete method under the scheme i.e. applying for registration, submitting claims and their processing inside the department, is via the portal intentionally achieved to keep away from human interface.

The scheme consists of 4 kinds of incentives: capital interest subvention, capital incentive, GST-linked incentive and WORKING CAPITAL interest subvention.

Har Ghar Nal Se Jal – Jal Jeevan

Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ is a major focus of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Highlights:

The Har Ghar Nal Se Jal program plans to increase the supply of tap water to 1.8 million rural households.

It is an improved version of the National Rural Drinking Water Program, launched in 2009.

The basic goal of the program is to provide running tap water to all households.

States must implement some mandatory components of the program, including installation of bore wells and tube wells in areas where is no water supply , and installation of pumps with dry sensors and replenishment structures among other things.

First Exercise with Algerian Navy – Indian Navy

On 29th August 2021, the Algerian and Indian navies conducted their first naval exercises off the coast of Algeria.

Highlights:

The exercise displays improved maritime cooperation among two countries.

Stealth ship INS Tabar represented India while Algeria used to be represented by means of its naval ship ANS Ezager.

As part of the exercise, things to do like coordinated maneuvers, Communication procedures, and previous steamships have been carried out between Algerian and Indian warships.

Lathams Snipe shorebird flies continuously from Japan to Australia twice in a year. The bird takes 5 days to cover the distance of thousands of kilometres of ocean for their survival.

About Lathams snipe:

Lathams Snipe is a long-billed, medium-sized, migratory snipe .

The bird is recognized as a Gallinago snipe by using its cryptically-patterned black, brown, buff and white plumage.

The bird usually breeds in Hokkaido in northern Japan and in small Percentage in Honshu (eastern Russian mainland).

Breeding habitat of the bird in Asia consist of alpine moorland, tough pasture, younger tree plantations, grasslands and cultivated areas.

Meeting of BIMSTEC

The eighth meeting of BIMSTEC national agricultural experts was held.

Highlights:

India virtually hosted the eighth Meeting of <a href="https://exam.pscnotes.com/Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Experts of the BIMSTEC nations.

The Secretary, Dept. of Agricultural Research & Education and the Director General, ICAR led the meeting.

The meeting urged that by encouraging the exchange of knowledge, germplasm, students and experts, the participation and cooperation of BIMSTEC member countries in agriculture and related sectors should be strengthened.
