Bihar deputy CM to head GST panel

The GST Council has reconstituted the group of ministers (GoM) on integrated GST settlement and designated Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi as the convenor.

The council had initially said that finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman would be the convenor but tweaked its decision later.

It was felt that it would not be proper to have Sitharaman head the panel, which will submit its report to the GST Council, which is chaired by the union finance minister.
