Ans: It is one of the key export control groups in the world dealing with non -proliferation. which is also an informal grouping of 42 countries, exercising control over the export of dual-use goods and technologies. The body came into being in 1996 to succeed the Cold War-era Coordinating Committee for Multilateral Export Controls.
